Variations of Poker

When people think of poker, they usually think of a game where players try to get the best hand out of a standard pack of cards. However, there are many variations of the game, which vary depending on where the game is played and how many cards are used.

In most forms of poker, each player is dealt five cards, which are ranked from Ace to King. Each player’s hand is evaluated based on the value of its highest card. If two or more players tie for the highest card, the high card is used to break the tie. The high card may be of the same suit as the other cards, or of a different suit.
